What’s the deal with the internet Lottery? they are all not true, right?

I just got an email that says:
*Redkings Online Promotions
Scientific Email Internet Program
Your Email Address has been Chosen.
You have been approved for The Star Prize Of USD$2,220,000.00 from Scientific Email Internet Program.*
I’m sure it’s not true but just was curious about those emails. Coz I got one from Yahoo Mail but they were not true. Has anyone won anything from a thing like that? I guess not.
