Promotion

My husband is in the Army. Part of the requirements for promotions are college credits. We think online courses would be best, since he is rarely home, but he only needs 29 credits. All of the online colleges seem geared to a specific degree, and none of the subjects are interesting to him. Do you know of any accredited online schools where he could take random classes in interesting (easy) things like mythology, history, stuff like that? At 3 credit hours per class, we figure 10 easy classes and he’s done. He doesn’t want a degree in IT or Criminal Justice, and that’s all that seems to be offered by the major online schools. All help appreciated.

What’s a good web site to look up Army promotion point cutoffs?

Trying to direct a soldier to put his packet together, but i am deployed and dont have my resources. Anyone know any good links? Need basic information like what is included, how it goes together and what not. We got most of the information together, just gotta make sure we knock down all the 50M targets. Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that the Army has some sort of automatic promotion after 3 months or something and I am just curious if it is the same or similar with the Marine Corps.

So how long does it take to get promoted from Private to Private First Class?

ive got on the site and searched for how but i cant seem to find it..i know its C_________ courses but i cant remmeber what its called LOL can anybody help me out? also any NCOs..i need some advice on how to prepare for the board next spring thnx -spc midkiff

My husband’s job has told him that he is not going to finish training for his promotion because he is probably getting sent to Afganistan in October of 2008 for military duty. He’s not sure if he’s even being sent because he’s supposed to be out of the Army in August of 2008 (they’re trying to stop-loss him). Either way, can they pass him up or even postpone his promotion? Isn’t that discrimination?

My husband just went to the promotion board, and he is now promotable. But, he does not have enough points. I’m just wondering why he would be recommended to the board so soon if he does not have the points to be promoted as of yet? For his MOS, I believe he would still need about 150 points. Those could take a while to accumulate. It’s been about a year since he was promoted to E4, and I’m not sure if he is in the PZ or SZ.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Heard a rumor that I could see it online. The rumor says it is an automatic promotion list for 19k tankers in the Army that are E4 SPC or E4 CPL. Curious to know if I can REALLY access this online and if not where? Thanks!!!

I’m in the Army. I was going through WTC and a battle-buddy mentined a website that one could put in their identification info, and your records for your entire career would appear along with the amount of promotion points you have. I’m hoping someone knows about this secured site.
