How long does it take to be a directv new customer after cancel the service to qualify promotion?

I discontinued directv service this september and I want to be back to directv again. Do they consider me as new customer for those promotions free installation and dvr and 3 month free movie channel?

Also is there any good promotion directv like getting HD DVR?

If I fake to cancel my cable service once a promotion is up will they Come back at me with their current promo

Time warner is offering a deal on internet and cable right now but it only lasts 6 months. If after 6 months I call and threaten to cancel my service will they offer me their best current promotion?Has anyone ever had sucess doing this?
