Why is the promotion of dialogue vital to humanity?

If we don’t promote dialogue, we indirectly promote violence. With the rise of the the third world and a multi polar super powers, we cannot afford not to promote dialogue. So, why is the promotion of dialogue vital to humanity? What are the consequences of lack of dialogue.
