Which Internet company is the best in cost and service in LA area?

My area’s ISP is Time Warner. I signed up for the 6 mg speed during promotion and it costs me $50 a month for internet alone. I tried to get it down to 1.5 meg, but they said that the price is the same; they’re trying to keep me here.
