How do I get more traffic to my promotional website?

I am a stay at home mom who just became a certified Web Promotion Specialist (trying to make a little income from home). The problem is that the program that I got certified through just taught me how to advertise on blogspot.com which I’m getting practically NO traffic to! Does anyone know where I can start advertising for the compaines I’m working for that would drive more traffic to my site? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!
